This is going really bad as per the concern of admission in engineering colleges/Institutes of the state. Statistics show that this year the admission rate has declined to 30% in the different colleges (Engineering) of Himachal Pradesh. This is due to the reason that the surrounding States are decreasing the rates /fees of the semesters to attract the aspirants from Himachal Pradesh.
So in order to fill seats; the universities are enrolling the students from Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar where the engineering colleges are few and the aspirants are more. Furqan Qumar, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, when asked to comment on the issue blamed the present state of affairs on the lack of a clear-cut and objective policy on higher education. This is really alarming because the local students are cheated in terms of education. Thus this is a matter of concern and should be taken care of and solid decisions should be made regarding the fee structure so that innocent students must not be cheated and finally diminishing their career.
