Monsoons enters in Himachal Pradesh - July 2012


The arrival of the southwest monsoon in Himachal fills the hearts and minds of the people with delight. After such a warm days finally Himachal has reported monsoon arrival for the year 2012.  Last year it was well in time and reached here by June 24, but rainfall during the season was eight percent deficient.  Normally according to the weather department it takes four days before or after the normal time period for monsoon to come. 

Farmers in Himachal always wait eagerly for this moment to happen so that they may have wet lands for their crops.  Statistics show that 80% of the agricultural water comes from rainfall.  As per records of the meteorological office, monsoon in the past 31 years arrived 24 times in June, which is normal for the state.  Thus monsoon add much to the agricultural department in the state and horticulture economy depends on rainfall.  So it’s the high time for farmers to get maximum of their crops.
