Himachal Pradesh Irrigation department has proved to be the best among different states. Himachal Pradesh has received distinction in this regard since national average is only 62 %.
The recently jointly survey carried out by National Sample Survey and HP Economic Department has declared this report and leaving other states far behind in terms of providing portable water.
This percentage is continuously increasing by the efforts deployed by the government to provide the safe drinking water to all the people of the state. All the panchayats (3,243) are forced to provide and fulfill the objective by any means to make the state available with portable water.
