Shimla: According to the decision made by the Himachal Pradesh government that from now onwards interest free education loans for girls can be dispersed in two installments for vocational and technical courses. Earlier the disburse period was five years.
The Corporation is giving Rs 75,000 loan to girls for both technical and vocational courses and it is being disbursed in five installments of Rs 15,000 each said Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary. From the current session this loan would be disbursed in two equal installments of Rs 37,500 each only for the girl students.
Statistics reflect that the Corporation has earned a profit of Rs 15.83 lakh during past years and disbursed loans worth Rs 467.59 lakh to 673 women under Swarojgar Yojana, the disbursing interest subsidy of Rs 9.27 lakh. In the current year Rs 480 lakh would be provided to 800 women under the Yojana she added.
